The PDA-Framework was created to achieve short realization times in mobile device projects. Until now no real alternative frameworks expect the .net-framework for mobile devices from Mircrosoft are available. The functionality though is very limited and reduces the programming posibilities known from PC application considerably. With the PDA-Framework we are filling this gap by providing a solution covering all basic functions needed to develop a professional application.

Technology

The PDA-Framework is programmed 100% in Java. No native libraries are used. As the underlying Java Virtual Machine we are using the CrEme JVM engine from NSIcom. Licensing models are relatively attractive. Please see the homepage of NSIcom for more detailed information.

The structure of the PDA-framework is a classical three-tier-architecture, having clearly defined interfaces between data-logic, business-logic and display-logic which makes it easy to replace any of the three tier by other or advanced implementations of the functionality.
